OnlyFans Owner Leonid Radvinsky Dies At 43 After Secret Cancer Battle

Facebook

The tech and creator economy world was rocked this week after news broke that OnlyFans owner Leonid Radvinsky has died at the age of 43.

Radvinsky, the billionaire entrepreneur who helped turn OnlyFans into one of the most lucrative adult content platforms on the internet, reportedly passed away after a long battle with cancer. While the news only recently became public, people close to the situation say he had been quietly preparing the company for this moment behind the scenes.

Here’s everything we know about Radvinsky’s death, his impact on the adult content industry, and what it means for the future of OnlyFans.

OnlyFans Confirms Leonid Radvinsky’s Death

The London-based company released a statement confirming the news on March 23.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Leo Radvinsky. Leo passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer,” the company wrote in a statement, adding that his family were requesting privacy during the difficult time.

According to reports, the Ukrainian-American entrepreneur had been battling cancer privately for years. Despite his immense wealth and influence, Radvinsky was famously low-profile and rarely appeared in public.

He is survived by his wife, philanthropist and attorney Yekaterina “Katie” Chudnovsky, and their four children.

The Billionaire Who Turned OnlyFans Into A Global Powerhouse

Radvinsky acquired Fenix International, the parent company behind OnlyFans, in 2018. At the time, the subscription platform was relatively small. Under his leadership, it exploded into a cultural phenomenon, particularly during the pandemic, becoming one of the most recognizable names in the adult creator economy.

One of the platform’s biggest selling points was its creator-friendly revenue model. OnlyFans allows creators to keep 80% of their earnings, giving performers and influencers a direct way to monetize their audiences without relying on traditional studios.

The business results were staggering. Company revenue reportedly jumped from around $59 million in 2019 to roughly $1.4 billion in 2024, turning OnlyFans into one of the most profitable subscription platforms online.

Forbes estimated Radvinsky’s personal net worth at $4.7 billion, with nearly $1.3 billion in dividends collected between 2021 and early 2025.

OnlyFans Creators Credit Him With Changing Their Lives

Many of the platform’s biggest stars say Radvinsky’s business model dramatically changed their financial futures. One of the most successful creators on the platform, Sophie Rain, who reportedly earned $95 million between 2023 and 2025, paid tribute to the entrepreneur.

“I don’t even know how to put this into words. That man built something that changed my entire life. Like, I grew up on food stamps and now I can take care of my whole family because of a platform he created. I will never forget that,” she said.

She also reflected on her life before joining the platform.

“Before OnlyFans I was waitressing and barely making rent. That platform gave me everything. And that doesn’t happen without someone building it in the first place.”

Stories like hers are a big part of why OnlyFans became such a disruptive force in the adult entertainment industry.

Radvinsky Kept An Extremely Low Public Profile

Despite running one of the most talked-about platforms on the internet, Radvinsky largely stayed out of the spotlight. In fact, there is only one widely circulated photo of him online, something almost unheard of for a billionaire tech founder.

Born in Odesa, Ukraine to Jewish parents, Radvinsky grew up outside Chicago and later graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in economics.

Long before OnlyFans, he was already experimenting with adult-tech business models. In 2004, he launched MyFreeCams, an early live cam streaming platform where users could pay performers for private shows.

He also registered hundreds of domain names during the early internet boom, many tied to adult content or celebrity names.

Friends Say The Company Was Prepared For His Passing

While Radvinsky’s death surprised the public, insiders say the company had time to prepare. Andy Bachman, CEO of Creators Inc., which works closely with OnlyFans creators, told reporters that the transition was planned.

“Insiders knew [Radvinsky] had been dealing with health issues for some time, and while his passing is tragic, he left behind a company that was fully prepared and resilient,” Bachman said.

He added that the timing of the announcement was delayed.

“His passing wasn’t sudden, so there was a lot of preparation and he passed a few days before the media found out, so there was no interruption to the business.”

A Tech Billionaire Who Also Donated Millions To Cancer Research

Although he built his fortune in the adult entertainment world, Radvinsky also quietly donated large sums to medical research.

He supported several organizations, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, The University of Chicago Medicine, and EB Research Partnership, a nonprofit focused on treating the rare genetic disease Epidermolysis Bullosa.

In 2024, Radvinsky and his wife helped fund a $23 million cancer research grant program through a gastrointestinal research foundation.

During a speech at a fundraising gala, Chudnovsky hinted at her husband’s personal connection to the research.

“Because of the scientists behind the research we are funding, one miracle followed another,” she said. “The advances will forever change the face of cancer treatment. And Leo’s here tonight proving that science and miracles go hand in hand.”

What Happens To OnlyFans Now?

Despite Radvinsky’s death, OnlyFans is expected to continue operating normally.

His ownership stake in the company has reportedly been held in a trust, and leadership structures were already in place to maintain stability.

Before his death, Radvinsky had reportedly explored selling his stake in OnlyFans for around $8 billion, though banks were hesitant to broker the deal due to the platform’s adult content focus.

For now, the future of the platform appears stable, but the long-term direction of OnlyFans without the man who transformed it remains one of the biggest unanswered questions in the creator economy.
