With most of the country still under lockdown and forced to social distance, we have got a real crisis on our hands.. WE’RE GOING TO RUN OUT OF PORN!
Sounds crazy, right? But as someone who starts my day perusing the various porn sites and such, I’ve noticed the number of new scenes has slowed down dramatically. Sure, the scene you’re watching today was probably filmed 6 months ago. But that stockpile of pre-COVID content is running out, and that’s why some studios have been rebranding older scenes and re-releasing them as “new scenes”.
Here’s the problem. California, the state responsible for pumping out the majority of our porn, has been under lockdown since March. And while some restrictions have been lifted recently, there’s still a HUGE risk in filming scenes, as there’s a ton of bodily fluids being passed back and forth. Have one asymptomatic person do a scene, and they could infect their partner, who could then infect others.
Before you know it, you’ve got an industry-wide epidemic, and that’s not good. It’s why you’re seeing a number of top performers saying NO to filming new scenes right now, with them content selling content on OnlyFans to get by in the meantime. I personally don’t like the amateur-quality stuff you get on OnlyFans, but lonely guys are flocking to it, happy to get personalized content from their dream girls. And the girls are making $$$!
Sure, we’ve still got amateur couples putting out new content on PornHub, stuff like Stay Home POV, and other creative ideas. But if you’re like me and want the highly produced, properly lighted porn that we’ve come to know and love, this other stuff just won’t cut it.
How do we solve this problem? In my case, I’ve been going through my archives and re-watching some of my favorites old scenes, even if they’re not in HD and such. It’s been long enough since I last watched them that they seem new to me again. It would be great to see studios remastering some of this old stuff, as 2006-2009 porn was pretty rough in terms of video quality.
Other than that, all we can do is sit and wait, hoping that they come up with a vaccine for COVID-19 sooner than later. Because I haven’t gotten laid in 7+ months now, thanks to this fucking pandemic. If I can’t get my porn on either, it’s going to get ugly. 🙁
